Kicking off a new year with goal setting is important. Growth may seem like an obvious objective, but accomplishing it looks different for everyone! Check out these 3 tips for setting small business goals for the upcoming 2022 calendar year.
SMART goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Choose to use this acronym when you create your goals to establish a defined path to success for your year.
Instead of broad statements such as “sell my products on new platforms,” set a SMART goal such as: “start selling my products on Instagram Shopping by June 2022.
The second goal is very specific and has a deadline which will make it realistic to measure.
The way in which your business develops should be guided by it’s core identity. This is what makes your business and offerings unique and stand out against the competition.
Whether it be upholding a certain level of quality, prioritizing customer service, caring about the environment, or donating to an important cause, it is important to maintain synchronicity between who you are and how you show up as a business.
If you choose to disregard your values and prioritize going about things the “profitable way” you will lose integrity with your community and the very core of what makes your business’ yours.
It is so important to reflect on the past year to understand how to move forward successfully into a new one.
Ask yourself what were your business’ strengths? What areas did it fall sort? How can you approach things differently in order to achieve new results? What obstacles are standing in the way from where you are and where you want to be?
Most importantly, take some time to acknowledge all that you accomplished in 2021. Pat yourself on the back for making it through an incredibly difficult year and move into 2022 with positivity, gratitude, and with clear intention!
