Freesia Soap Company

We Are:

Women Owned

About Us:

I’m Andrea Sinclair and I’m the owner/maker behind Freesia Soap Company, a local East Vancouver business. I’m began making soap in 2015 for personal use, and friends and family as gifts. I’m a maker in a family of makers- I make bread, granola, yogurt, kefir, plus baked goods, and of course savory meals (as a mom, I need to count this!). My children are excellent bakers and cook often and my husband makes his own beer.

I started my small business late in 2020(!) after having breast cancer (I’m all good now) and Freesia Soap Company was launched!

Freesia is a flower and its main meaning is trust and friendship. I wanted to be a trusted friend and supplier to my community and to families. I have always focused on building community, nurturing friendships and connecting people. Those who know me understand my depth of community engagement, support and encouragement. I’ve been involved in my local community since we moved into our East Vancouver home and in my children’s schools. I’ve given much time to working as chair of various boards, helping and making them better than when I found it.

I love making soap – for me it’s therapeutic and fulfilling. My artisan soaps bring joy to those who use them and that makes me feel good.

We Sell:

I create and sell handcrafted artisanal small batch bar soap for face and body. All bars are 100% alcohol-free, free from sulfates, phthalates, and parabens. Most bars are vegan. All my products are handmade by me in Vancouver. My soap is cold process soap, which means that I make the recipe from scratch with full control of all the ingredients. I use primarily natural and certified ingredients and each bar has a simple recycled paper label to reduce packaging. Each bar of soap cures for 4-6 weeks to ensure all the water has evaporated which leads to a harder bar of soap that will last longer.

To Me, Supporting Local Means:

I’ve always focused on building community, nurturing friendships and connecting people. I support other local businesses through my purchases for both business and home.
