I’m Shirley and I started this little silicone and wood bead accessories shop to allow me to donate portion of proceeds to BC Cancer Foundation – over $900 to date! Cancer took away my beloved aunt and it made me aware of how important this foundation is for research and support they provided to those affected.
This shop has also allowed me to channel my passion for creativity and love for simple and minimalistic designs. Natural elements, such as beech wood, and neutral colours can be found in all my designs for lanyards, keychains, and much more. It has been super rewarding seeing others loving my minimal designs and hope you will too. Materials are sourced from trusted local and/or Canadian suppliers as a way to support fellow small businesses as well.
“Fifth of May” is otherwise known as a cause shop. 10% of all proceeds are donated to BC Cancer Research Foundation. It is something that is close and dear to my heart, and I’ve donated over $900 over the past two years. Currently, I design and sell silicone and wood bead accessories, such as lanyards, keychains, ornaments, necklaces, and pens.

Supporting local is a way for me to support dreams. It’s not easy being a small business owner, and I try to promote other fellow local artisans and local shops whenever I can.
